Kovalus Membranes

KSS provides one of the most extensive selections of membranes available globally. Over time, we’ve broadened and customized our offerings to meet the unique demands of various industries and end-product requirements. Our membranes come in a broad spectrum of pore sizes, making them suitable for a wide array of uses—from desalination to the filtration of larger particles. Reverse osmosis delivers the most precise separation, followed by nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, and then microfiltration, which features the largest pores. These membrane processes can also be integrated—for instance, ultrafiltration paired with reverse osmosis in seawater desalination, or microfiltration followed by nanofiltration for clarifying fermentation liquids and concentrating products.

Our systems are designed to process a diverse range of fluids, including industrial liquids, water, and wastewater. We welcome the chance to assist you in identifying the best solution for your separation needs.

Microfilteration Technology: Microfiltration is a pressure-driven membrane separation process used in water treatment to remove suspended solids, bacteria, and other large contaminants. It operates with membrane pore sizes typically ranging from 0.1 to 1 micron.

Ultrafiltration TechnologyUltrafiltration is a method used to clean water by pushing it through special filters that catch tiny unwanted particles. These filters are much finer than regular ones and can remove things like dirt, bacteria, and some viruses. It’s often used to make drinking water cleaner or to treat water before it’s used in other processes. Ultrafiltration doesn’t need a lot of chemicals and works well with just gentle pressure. Because it’s easy to use and gives reliable results, many homes, businesses, and industries use this technology to get clear, safe water for different needs.

Nanofilteration Technology: It is a water treatment method that uses special membranes to remove small particles like organic compounds, certain salts, and microbes. It works between ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis, offering cleaner water without stripping away all minerals. Nanofiltration is ideal for softening water, treating wastewater, and improving overall water quality.

Reverse Osmosis Technology: Reverse osmosis is a water purification process that uses a tightly woven membrane to block nearly all impurities, including salts, chemicals, and microbes. By applying pressure, it forces water through the membrane, leaving contaminants behind. This method is widely used for producing fresh, clean water from salty or polluted sources.

Hollow Fiber Membranes

Made for applications with a moderate level of suspended solids, hollow fiber configurations have a unique structure that allow for easier control of flux and rejection during production and cleaning. Our ultrafiltration and microfiltration hollow fiber solutions include pressurized and submerged products operating in Inside-Out or Outside-In direction and providing cost-effective, low-energy performance for both small and large filtration volumes.
